Grazie Cile! / Thank you Chile!

La mano del deserto ci indica la via, e’ bellissima questa mano che esce dalla terra!

Altri giorni di  km che  si susseguono senza fine apparente fino a quando….. lungo la strada un ragazzo scende dalla macchina con la macchina fotografica in mano chiedendoci al volo da dove veniamo e dove stiamo andando.

Ora siamo a casa sua, di Carlos ….

Ci incontriamo nella piazza di Los Andes  dove lo troviamo il giorno dopo insieme ad altri suoi amici del vespa club Los Andes e incredibilmente  hanno fatto amicizia con Luis e Rodrigo, i ragazzi di Santiago che avevamo conosciuto precedentemente!

Tutti insieme ci portano a pranzo e la sera a casa di Carlos un mega asado,vino e melvino. Ha invitato tutti , parenti e amici e il padre di Carlos che e’ un poeta ne improvvisa una per noi scrivendola in un foglio.( e’ tra le foto)

Tutti loro sono straordinari e come per la valle della luna resta difficile in poche parole descrivere la situazione e il loro modo di dimostrare amicizia anzi no, non sono amici, sono fratelli ora!

E’ l’ultimo giorno in Cile, o meglio , doveva essere ieri, ma tra asado e vino ………ci siamo svegliati alle 11,30, quindi invece di attraversare le Ande andiamo a pranzo ( tanto per cambiare) da Jorge a cui rubo per una mezz’ora la sua honda 500 four! Che bel suono che ha, e finalmente posso superare i 60 km orari, go,go,go tanto il Generale non si offende e me la godo come un bambino su una giostra e non riesco a togliermi il sorriso dalla faccia.

Ora e’ veramente l’ultima notte in questo paese,dove lascio un altro pezzo di anima ……………

The hand of the desert points out the way to us. This hand coming out of the ground is beautiful! Other days of kilometers follow one another without an apparent end until when… along the road a guy gets off his car with a camera in his hands and suddenly asks us where we come from and where we’re going. Now we are at his place, at Carlo’s place…

The day after we meet him in Los Andes Square where he’s with some friends of Los Andes Vespa Club. Incredibly they made friends with Luis and Rodrigo, the guys from Santiago we had met before! All together they took us out for lunch and in the evening at Carlo’s we have a super asado, wine and melvino. He invited everyone, relatives and friends. Carlo’s father, who’s a poet, improvises a poem for us and writes it down on a piece of paper (it’s among the photos).

They are all extraordinary and, as with the Valley of the Moon, it’s hard to describe in few words the situation and the way they show their friendship. Actually they aren’t friends, they’re brothers now!

It’s our last day in Chile. Actually our last day ought to be yesterday, but between asado and wine… we woke up at 11.30. So rather than crossing the Andes we go for lunch (just for a change) at Jorge’s and I steal his Honda 500 four, for half an hour! What a great noise it makes! I can finally go beyond 60 km p/h. Go, go, go, so much that the General isn’t offended and I enjoy it as baby on a merry-go-round and can’t take the smile out of my face.

This is really the last night in this country, where I leave another piece of my soul… Tomorrow Mendoza, Argentina.
